MRI Technologist – Full Time, Rotating shifts (08HR)

This position performs a variety of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures on patients using high field strength magnets and related equipment. The MRI Technologist performs MRI imaging sequences necessary to reach a medical diagnosis and decision. Works under the guidance of Radiologists; participates in resident training program and may be responsible for specific areas of instruction in the training of Radiology students, house staff, or others, in MRI procedures, protocols, equipment and safety issues. Bills all procedures performed and maintains necessary paperwork. Essential functions include preparing patients for MRI exam; explaining procedure; ensuring screening form is completed; safely transferring patient to MRI equipment; positioning patient; and completing exams in the required timeframe. Troubleshoot equipment problems and report for repair. Utilize ancillary equipment appropriately, including PACS system, laser camera, MedRad power injector, IDXRad, and Invivo monitor. Education: Completion of an accredited MRI or Radiologic technology program. Experience: One year of progressively responsible and directly related work experience. Licenses and certifications: BLS and one of ARMRIT, ARRT, or CRT (California Certified Radiology Tech). Base pay scale generally starts at $70.14–$78.98/hour. Rotating 08-hour shifts.
